The British Kodály Academy is a Registered Charity.

Membership is for all those wishing to support our aim to transform music education in the UK following Zoltán Kodály’s own principles and philosophy which include:

  • Music is an indispensable part of human knowledge.
  • Singing is the real and profound schooling of music abilities. Everyone has a voice – there is no cost for an instrument.
  • Teach music and singing in schools in such a way that it is a joy for the pupil.
  • The organic connection between music and physical movement is expressed in singing games – one of the principal joys of childhood since time immemorial.
  • Only the best is good enough for children.

Join the British Kodály Academy and become part of this growing movement in the United Kingdom, working to transform music education and children’s musicianship following Kodály’s principles.

Membership subscriptions and donations are the basis of our income and enable us to organise and run our courses, from a local ‘Taster’ session and the online musicianship courses to our accredited CPD qualifications.  We are planning to run our Summer School again this year – something joyfully anticipated by the BKA community.
