Joanne has a wide range of experience, built up over many years, teaching music to children and adults in different settings. After studying double bass at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland she freelanced before continuing her studies with a PGCE at the Royal Northern College of Music and MMU, where she was introduced to the Kodály and Dalcroze concepts. She then pursued a successful career as a classroom music teacher, serving as Head of Music in two leading Secondary schools. She has directed a wide range of ensembles, including choirs, orchestras and wind bands and currently teaches classroom music to pupils aged 3-18.
