Coming from a musical family, and immersed in music at school, Lucy studied French and Russian at Oxford, but always longed to return to study music. Whilst working in the wine trade (another passion) Lucy set up a children’s choir and recorder club at her children’s primary school which had next to no music provision in 2007. Searching for ideas on how to teach, Lucy came across the British Kodály Academy. Having an instant and lasting effect on how she taught, Lucy went on to create a musicianship programme for juniors at Pembroke Academy of Music, an inner-city charity in London, while teaching musicianship to Suzuki violinists. Since 2019 she has been teaching Kodály musicianship at Junior Guildhall.

Lucy continues to sing in choirs, plays clarinet and piano, and occasionally dips into the wine trade, most recently returning from a trip to Barolo. She lives in South London with her husband and four children.
