Lynne Clark is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music. She first worked as a freelance violinist and instrumental teacher before becoming a full-time teacher.

Regular attendance on BKA Schools for many years enabled her to pursue her ‘Kodály based’ studies with numerous amazing and inspirational Hungarian tutors.  These experiences became the foundation for all Lynne’s future educational work.  In 1997 Lynne was awarded the Certificate of Kodály Music Education with distinction and she also gained her Master of Education degree through Nottingham University.

Until retiring from full time work Lynne worked for Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership as Leader of Music Development for NE Derbyshire.  She took the lead in introducing Kodály-based musicianship into all the whole-class Wider Opportunities programmes through professional development days and short courses.

Since 2017 Lynne has tutored musicianship and instrumental methodology on the NYCOS summer schools, subsequently joining the BKA tutor team in 2019.

As principal conductor of The Derbyshire Singers for twenty five years, she has worked in close collaboration with contemporary composers including Paul Patterson, Elis Pehkonen and the late David Fanshawe.
