The 38th International Kodály Summer School

Monday 8th August – Saturday 13th August 2022 at Nottingham University Music Department

We are really looking forward to our first in-person Summer School since 2019. The 2022 Summer School will include Daily Musicianship classes, Choir and Jazz Choir for everyone.

Afternoon sessions will include Choral Conducting, Singing Games, Early Years, Senior and Tertiary teaching topics, and journeys into English Folk Music.

Evening events will include a Dalcroze evening with Andrew DavidsonMusical Theatre with Allan Hubert-Wright and a discussion of gender issues in vocal and choral teaching with Michael Spence.

We are delighted to welcome Guest Tutors László Norbert Nemes (Hungary), James Cuskelly OAM (Australia) and Allan Hubert-Wright (France)

With members of our experienced UK tutor team Lucinda Geoghegan, Esther Hargittai, Lynne Clark, Ben Lawrence, Alan Murdock and Chris Andrews.

We are also very excited to announce that the renowned jazz musician Pete Churchill will be in residence taking Jazz Choir for everyone and jazz musicianship classes for those suitably experienced.

Optional one-to-one lessons in Vocal Technique with Florent Isoard and Allan Hubert-Wright will also be available at extra cost.

For those with little or no formal training or who are completely new to the Kodály approach to music education, the Kodály Certificate Foundation Level (CPD Certified) can be completed during the week.

The Early Years, Primary and Secondary Certificate courses will continue to be run online throughout the year.
